Notes for Powerusers: Contest Quality Ratings and Score Refresh Rates

This post is all about Linkspank technology, baby. If you are new to Linkspank this might not make too much sense and you may want to start on the help pages or the orientation checklist.

Contest Quality Ratings.
Starting with this contest, you have a "contest quality rating" that is based only on the spanks you sending during the contest, and your contest score is based in part on that quality rating. (Your lifetime quality rating is not a factor in your contest score.)

Since it's still early in the contest, your contest quality rating is probably chillin at 0.5, which is the provisional value until you have sent some spanks and some time has passed. Then it should change (hopefully jump up) and your contest score will change.

The contest quality rating was introduced to make sure that the playing field was re-leveled with each new contest.

When does my score refresh?
Until "recently", your lifetime and contest scores refreshed whenever you logged in to linkspank. But the scores are calculated using all kinds of fancy algorithms and we figure that you want your login experience to occur in the blink of an eye (we do when we go on the spank!). So now, your score will update on a regular basis (roughly once / day) independent of your login.

However, you may see your completely up-to-date contest AND lifetime scores and quality ratings at any time by visiting your Score Tracker page. When you visit the page, we whip out all the algorithms and give you your latest score.

That is all.
