The Second Ultimate Linkspank Contest is beginning!

There are awesome prizes and three ways to win.

See the contest page and the help page for more details.

The results of the first contest can be found here.

Don't forget: you can win points by inviting friends!

Nine Questions about Linkspank

If you are a linkspank user, you can answer nine questions and win five points - very handy for the Second Ultimate Linkspank Contest.

Spank Fast and Furious

There are two ways to start a linkspank.

First, you can click "start a linkspank" at the top of the page, copy and paste the web address and other information, and then choose your recipients.

Second, you can get the spank this page! button. It is a shortcut or favorite (not a download!) that you can put in your web browser.

With this button, spanking is super-fast. Find a page that you want to share. Click the button (in your "Favorites"). Linkspank opens in a new window and automatically fills in some information. You may have to temporarily allow popups to get it to open.

NOTE: a new version of the button came out recently, so try it out if you are a long-time button user.

PS. Another way to make spanking fast is to import contacts into your address book. Then when you start typing an email, you can autocomplete it.

The Quality Rating (aka End of the Spam Wars)

Due to a flaw in the contest rules, participants in the first contest were trying to out-spank each other by sending a lot of links. As a result, some spankees were overwhelmed when they opened their inboxes.

Now everyone has a Quality Rating. Your quality rating is based on whether people open and read your the linkspanks you send them.

The higher your quality rating, the higher your points will go!

If you send too much mail to people, they won't have time to read everything. Your quality rating will go down and your points will go down.

Note: as in the case of your score, there is often a delay in your quality rating. If you are a new user your quality rating may not move from its initial value for a while. Quality ratings became effective a short time after the last contest ended.

As always, your feedback is welcome!
