Whom may I spank?

Notice the proper grammar in the title. I take linkspanking very seriously WHOMEVER is being spanked.

One feature under experiment is who you can linkspank. We will be changing the rules so that you can only linkspank to site member who are your friends.

You may be like, "What? Wasn't it already that way?" In fact most people assumed that you could only send linkspanks to your friends. So I guess we are doing the obvious thing now!

HOWEVER, you can still send a linkspank to up to ten email addresses. The recipient gets a link to a temporary inbox showing your message and the link. Sending links this way is a savvy technique for following up on your invitations to join the site.

In fact, when you invite an email address, Linkspank will remember it and you can "autocomplete" it by starting to type it in the "To:" part of sending a Linkspank. Which is a great reason to import your entire hotmail or other addresses and invite them to Linkspank. Or something.

Feedback and One Hint for the First Ultimate Contest

Dear Spankers,

Thanks for supporting Linkspank, whether you are playing in the contest or just receiving an occasional spank.

One contest tip: during the remainder of the contest, it may be tough to extract points from the friends you make on Linkspank. Your best shot at getting more points from here is to invite people (via the FRIEND FINDER at top) and to send them some sweet-ass links.

You have provided great feedback. Contest players have voiced frustrations with the point system. Also, some people like to receive lots of messages in their inbox, while others appreciate receiving only the creme de la creme of spank material. After the contest, you will see attempts to respond to your requests. Feel free to click "contact us" and jot a note at any time.

spank onward,

Some tips on the contest

The first day of the contest has been great. Here are some additional tips in response to people's experience so far:

  • Yes, it is very hard to earn points! You can earn lots of points, but it's not easy.

  • Some good deeds MAY manifest in points somewhat later.

  • Bringing new people to the site earns points.

hopefully this helps. happy spanking!

Will the first contest ever occur?

Will the first contest ever occur?

The only way to be sure is to check this blog every five seconds. And to check linkspank.com, as there will also be notice there.

However, we are shooting for a contest to begin on Monday, i.e., the 23rd. It will not last very long (< 2 weeks) so you will want to get a jump start on it!

We have 160 users... only one can win. (Although one other participant will get the Random Prize.)

New Features: (1) Import Contacts and (2) Spank This! button

In our quest to become a real site, we have added two new features.

First, a daring experimental Friend Finder function. Using your Hotmail, Yahoo, or other mail, discover your friends and invite others in one fell swoop. Click on Friend Finder to get it going.

Second, a Spank This! button. With the help of this shortcut, you can start a linkspank instantly by clicking the button right when you are on the page that you want to share. (You can get it here.) Just part of our quest to make linkspank the easiest and niftiest way to share ever imagined by even the most creative of people.

As a bonus, I have added a new help page. Help pages are pretty boring, but sometimes they can be helpful.

A contest is coming "soon."
